His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester Launches InSpires Project at Lichfield Cathedral.

His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester (KG GCVO) took an inspirational tour around Lichfield Cathedral on April 30th 2008, when he launched officially the Lichfield Inspires project. The Duke, who is patron of Lichfield Inspires, was accompanied by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Mr James Hawley. 

Lichfield Cathedral is hosting an exhibition of the Bath Abbey Diptychs from the 30th April to 28th May 2008.

For the first time since a successful exhibition during the Lichfield Festival in 2003, Tom Allwood will be showing a selection of photographs in the South Transept of Lichfield Cathedral during February.

Taken from both the collection of images he has built up over the last five years of being associated with Lichfield, and from a brand new commission recently completed, there will be everything from panoramic views of the Cathedral to little known architectural details.

All prints will be on sale in the Cathedral bookshop, with some specially limited-edition ranges.

The Revd Dr Pete Wilcox, Canon Chancellor at Lichfield Cathedral, flies out to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday 8 January, to spend three weeks in Lichfield’s three companion Dioceses of West Malaysia, Kuching and Sabah.
