The Olive Tree Project is offering for sale young hardy olive trees.

The first batch of these were given to Caradoc Doy, Horticulturist, through a church group for the purpose of encouraging others to grow this tree for its peaceful and symbolic virtues.

The Olive, described as a powerful ‘Tree of Peace’, has long been associated with beauty and immortality, holding a special place throughout history for its strong symbolic and spiritual significance. The form of Olive on offer, unofficially named ‘Pax vobiscum’ (Peace be with You) is a special cultivar found to generally withstand British winters. Young plants have been propagated from the original tree which grows in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

Trees are on offer at £5 for 9cm pots of 6” high plants or £10 for 1.1 litre pots of 12” high plants. More information can be found on the Olive Tree Project website
