ImageTo mark Remembrance-tide Lichfield Cathedral ArtReach committee has commissioned an exhibition of 26 lino-cuts from artist Denis May, based on the war poetry of Wilfred Owen.

This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Passchendaele where many of the casualties came from the Staffordshire and neighbouring Midland regiments. The Dean would like to invite everyone to view Denis May’s work  to see how he tries to capture the sense of Owen’s poetry and to consider the feelings and reactions that are evoked by war and by remembrance. It runs from the 1st – 26th November in the Cathedral Chapter House: see the What’s On section of the website for timings. An exhibition catalogue and a selection of poetry books will be on sale from the Cathedral bookshop.
