Those of you who have attended any special services or events in the Cathedral recently may well have noticed new faces among the Stewards.

In the last twelve months Cheryl Baxter, Helen Betts, John Booth, Margaret Brothwell, Sheila Davies, Peter Durrant, Mary Harris, Terry Harris, David Herschell, Gill Jones, Chris Lamb, Margaret Ramsell, Brian Walker and Mary Wright have been appointed Stewards; and it was very pleasing to see so many being formally admitted to the Guild and welcomed by the congregation at Evensong on 6th October. All are now doing duties at special services and events (of which there are many between now and Christmas !) and in the new year will also be joining the regular Sunday teams.

Not withstanding this excellent response we are still recruiting. The pressure of other commitments, illness and old age inevitably result in a few Stewards having to stand down each year and to sustain this valuable ministry we need a corresponding flow of new blood. Stewards provide a welcome and assist in many ways at services and events within the Cathedral.
