‘Have A Go' experiences - part of the ‘Celebrate Lichfield InSpires' series in association with Croft Building & Conservation Ltd.
Ever wondered how Lichfield Cathedral was built? Come and discover for yourself - learn the art of traditional stone masonry through the Cathedral's ‘Have A Go' experience. Visitors can enjoy 1 to 1 instruction from the Lichfield InSpires' stone masons (from Croft Building & Conservation Ltd) and experience how traditions have changed through the ages.
The experiences take place on September 11th, September 26th and October 29th. Each experience lasts one hour and slots are available at the Cathedral Shop (no. 9 The Close, Lichfield or telephone 01543 306150).
Tickets cost £10 per person and bookings can be made at the Visitor Study Centre, near Chapters Coffee Shop and Restaurant or call 01543 306100 for more information.
Please note that only adults over 17 are able to participate in this event and casual clothes must be worn. Health and safety equipment will be provided by Croft Ltd.

It's what's inside that counts!
It is business as usual at Lichfield Cathedral - despite a new appearance this week. Following the launch of Lichfield Inspires by Royal Patron, His Royal Highness, the Duke of Gloucester on 30th April of this year, contractors move-in this week to commence work on this ‘once-in-a-century’ project.
Scaffolding, hoardings, work compounds and a viewing platform will start to be erected from Wednesday 28th May, which will of course mean a drastic alteration to the building's external appearance. Despite this, visitors can expect very little disruption during a visit to the Cathedral and should not be deterred from exploring this national treasure during the summer months.
