We welcome group visits throughout the year, but, as the Cathedral gets very busy, these do need to be booked in. The Visitors' Centre handles this and is anxious to make your visit as interesting and enjoyable as possible. A video presentation is available and we provide trained guides. The Centre is available for your refreshment and comfort. There are many resources to help you to learn more about this ancient and beautiful building and the life and work of its Christian community.

The Life of Lichfield Cathedral In order to fit in with such things as worship and organ practice, Guided Tours are, normally, arranged between 10.00am and 12.00pm, and 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Tours at other times are possible but could be subject to some disruption! Evening tours are available by special arrangement. Whilst your tour will be the central item in your visit, you may like to see the video entitled The Life of Lichfield Cathedral, have coffee or a meal, and then spend some time making a more specialised visit, or studying a particular aspect of the Cathedral's life.

Standard tours introduce the visitor to the long history of the Cathedral, highlight some of its more important moments, and visit the main places of interest. Cost: £4.30 Adults and £3.90 Senior Citizens. You should allow at least one and a quarter hours for your tour.

Special tours give a briefer introduction to the Cathedral and then our specially trained guides provide in-depth insight into the topic of your choice. Cost: £5.30 Adults and £4.80 Senior Citizens. The special tour topics include:

• The Library and Manuscripts
• The Stained Glass and/or Monuments
• The Life of Saint Chad
• Cathedral Worship through the Centuries
• A Walk through the Centuries in the Close

Evening Tours
Summer - Standard Evening Tours cost £5.80
Winter - Candlelit Tours cost £8.50 including seasonal refreshments or £5.75 plus the cost of supper per person

Designing a Programme
For your convenience we have designed several all-inclusive packages which offer your group private pre-booked catering to coincide with your tour and the use of the Visitors' Centre as a base for your party.

Tour Packages
The Morning Coffee Tour (minimum number of 12 people)

• Arrive 10.00am / 10.30am. Allow 2 - 2.5 hours: Welcome and Coffee; Video Presentation; Standard Tour. Cost: £5.80

• Allow 3 hours: Welcome and Video Presentation; Standard Tour; Afternoon Tea (menu of your choice). Cost on application.
• Evensong at 5.30pm

OAPs and adult students: 50p reduction on all daytime tours. Special tours: please add 50p to above prices.

Catering
In addition lunch and evening meals can be provided through "Chapters" Restaurant and Coffee Shop at an agreed price.

Booking
When you have chosen a date (preferably with an alternative, in case we are very busy!), select the package tour you would like and complete the online form and return it to the Operations Officer.
