We welcome group visits throughout the year, but, as the Cathedral gets very busy, these do need to be booked in.
Standard tours introduce the visitor to the long history of the Cathedral, highlight some of its more important moments, and visit the main places of interest. You should allow at least one and a quarter hours for your tour.
Special tours give a briefer introduction to the Cathedral and then our specially trained guides provide in-depth insight into the topic of your choice. Cost on application. The special tour topics include:
- Anglo Saxon
- Cathedral Treasures
- The Library and Manuscripts
- The Stained Glass and/or Monuments
- The Life of Saint Chad
- Cathedral Worship through the Centuries
- A Walk through the Centuries in the Close
