Support Us

Running the Cathedral costs around £5.50 for every minute it is open. We believe it should be open and accessible to all and resist charging an entrance fee. English Cathedrals receive no money from the Government.

Donations are vital to the continuing future of Lichfield Cathedral and its myriad treasures. We are fortunate in having a very generous congregation and visitors, and it is thanks to the support of people who love Lichfield Cathedral that we are able to protect its heritage and support its mission.

But we need to expand and develop if we are to be a cathedral for the 21st century. We have a vision for the future, based on consultations with the people of the church and city about what they need from us.

By improving our visitor facilities, renewing our heating, lighting and sound systems and conserving and redisplaying our heritage (such as with the East End Appeal), we intend to be a cathedral brimming with life, a place of prayer and worship, of spiritual refreshment and direction, and a place of welcome for adults and children, a place of learning and fun, of profound appreciation of music and the arts, and a place in which it is safe simply to be.

We cannot pursue this vision alone, so please help us by making a donation using one of the following methods. If you are a UK tax payer, please remember to Gift Aid your donation, so that we can claim an extra 25p for every pound you donate, at no extra cost to you.
